Land of Oświęcim Residents’ Memory Museum and Władysława Jagiełły Primary School nr 1 in Osiek warmly invite you to encounter history in a meeting entitled “We will remember it all – the fate of Osiek inhabitants during WWII.” The gathering takes place at 5pm in the Osiek Village Cultural Centre.

The meeting comes as a result of the September conference organised by the Memory Museum entitled “Tireless in the fight for their homeland – inhabitants of the Land of Oświęcim on WWII frontlines.” The interest in the topic turned out so great and the topic so wide-ranging that the Memory Museum has begun a new cycle of “encounters with local history” during which we will recall interesting events and people whose attitude and actions warrant remembrance.

As Dorota Mleczko, Memory Museum director says, “during the September conference, we heard about soldiers from Osiek who fought in Anders’ Army. However, the scope of the conference was wide and the specific topic of the soldiers was not fully discussed which led us to work with Primary School nr 1 in Osiek to initiate a new cycle of meetings which we intend to continue in other towns and villages in our district.”

The topic of the meeting in Osiek will be local history and the life of locals during WWII.
