Grant funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, under Agreement No. 256/KPO.GRANTY/NIMiT/2025 for the provision of non-repayable support in the form of a grant from the development plan within Investment A2.5.1: Programme Supporting the Activities of Cultural and Creative Sector Entities to Stimulate Their Development, concluded with the Supporting Institution – the National Institute of Music and Dance.
The objective of the project entitled “ARchitektura Pamięci 2.0 – expansion of the mobile application with new content in Polish and English” is to further develop the AR-based mobile application by extending it to cover all seven zones of the educational path at the museum. As part of the project, three new three-dimensional characters of children who helped prisoners of KL Auschwitz will be created. The project will also introduce English translations of the content, implement alternative activation methods such as beacons and QR codes, and include technological optimization and further development of the application.
The target group includes all museum visitors, including children, youth, adults, seniors, persons with special needs, and international tourists. The project also addresses individuals who are digitally excluded by providing assistant support and access to mobile devices.
The outcome of the project will be a modern and accessible educational tool enabling visitors to explore the region’s history in an engaging and interactive way. The project will contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the museum’s offer, developing digital and ecological competencies among audiences, strengthening accessibility for international visitors, and fostering historical awareness and cultural identity.

The objective of the project entitled “Design, implementation and dissemination of the mobile application – ‘ARchitektura Pamięci’” is to increase the attractiveness of the educational path located next to the museum through the use of augmented reality elements. By developing the mobile application, the path originally dedicated to children will become accessible to a wider audience.
The application will initially cover four zones, with the possibility of further expansion. Its use will contribute to enhancing the digital and ecological competencies of its users. The application presents the history of the inhabitants of the Oświęcim Land who helped prisoners of KL Auschwitz and encourages reflection on the significance of these events.
Availability of the application in stores such as the App Store and Google Play ensures the continuity and long-term accessibility of the project.

Targeted investment grant funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the state budget for the project “Adaptation of the Building for the Needs of the Museum of Memory of the Inhabitants of the Oświęcim Land, including the development of the permanent exhibition.”
Funding amount: PLN 35,000,000.00
The objective of the investment is the adaptation of a historic building that forms part of the former Grain and Milling Works and Tobacco Works complex for the purposes of the newly established museum. Between 1940 and 1944, the building was used to support the operation of the KL Auschwitz camp as an SS warehouse known as the “Lagerhaus.”
Due to its history, the building constitutes an appropriate and symbolic location for the establishment of the Museum of Memory of the Inhabitants of the Oświęcim Land. The creation of the museum responds to the need to complement the narrative of the region’s centuries long history through the perspective of its inhabitants, including the presentation of the tragic situation of the local population following the outbreak of World War II and the assistance provided to prisoners of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz Birkenau.
