Since the very beginning of the creation of the new cultural institution that is the Land of Oświęcim Residents’ Memory Museum, inhabitants of this land and its surroundings have been progressively contributing to the enlargement of the Museum’s collection. Unique photographs and keep-sakes have found their way into the collection. Donors are also keen and willing to share their memories with us.

The number of people who are contributing to the enlargement of the Museum’s collection is increasing month by month.

“We are reaching out to local residents and those interested in the Museum’s activities, including by social media,” notes Dorota Meczko, Museum Director and adds, “We realise that this is currently one of the best ways to reach a wide audience with our message.”

The Museum’s Instagram profile has been of particular interest.

“Thanks to a wide palette of unique photographs that we have in our collection, the number of people who follow our profile has been steadily increasing as they wait in expectation for the next photographs to come,” notes Dorota Mleczko.

She adds, “and it is precisely photographs and documents which are coming to us more and more often. From almost every corner of the District we receive information from people who would like to contribute to the collection. There are often extraordinary stories hidden behind the photographs, which we write down, record and then publish for our followers.”

We invite all interested parties to keep up to date by following us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
