Dorota Mleczko, Remembrance Museum of Land of Oświęcim Residents’ director and Dr. Sonia Grychtoł, rector of and professor at the Witold Pilecki State University of Małopolska (Lesser Poland) in Oświęcim, met at the Remembrance Museum’s HQ to discuss the possibilities for joint activities between the two institutions.
The museum and the university are located on the same street – Maksymiliana Kolbego and are just several hundred metres apart. No wonder, then, that a month after moving the museum to its renovated and modernised HQ, a meeting took place between the heads of both centres.
“I invited the Rector to our permanent premises to discuss the possibilities for cooperation between our institutions. The close proximity of the two institutions and their educational and scientific activities open up many possibilities for joint undertakings in the near future. Already during this meeting, an outline of the first joint undertaking was established, now we need to work out the details,” said director Dorota Mleczko.
For Rector Sonia Grychtoł it was also an opportunity to see the museum building after the completion of renovation works.
