After touring Warsaw, the visitors came to the Małopolska province where they spent time in Wieliczka, Krakow and Oświęcim, among other places. During their visit to the town on the Soła River, among the several places they saw was the Remembrance Museum. Director Dorota Mleczko told the guests about the museum’s activities and guided them through the permanent exhibition.

According to Krzysztof Kaminski of the Oświęcim Tourist Information Centre, who accompanied the group, the purpose of the study tour was to convince industry representatives from Western Europe that Poland – despite the war in neighbouring Ukraine – is a safe country and prepared to receive tourists. In addition, the study tours were directed at showcasing standard tourism programs while presenting new tourism products and activities that could increase Poland’s competitiveness.
