Online voting has begun in the fourth edition of the competition for the best tourist offers and products of Malopolska Voivodeship (Lesser Poland country), entitled “Tourist Treasures of Malopolska” which is open until September 27. The Remembrance Museum of Land of Oswiecim Residents is among 41 candidates in the category of Unique Tourist Attraction.

This is the museum’s competition debut since it opened only in May this year. Competition is very high. However, we hope for a good place, because we know that although we have only been operating for less than four months, we have already managed to convince a large group of people of its importance and gather a sizable group of friends and supporters of the museum.

When more than a thousand people came to see the mapping and exhibition two weeks after the opening, during the Night of Museums on 14th May, it became clear how much this facility was needed.

The very good reception of the content of the permanent exhibition at the Remembrance Museum is also evidenced by the multitude of positive reviews left by tourists.

The uniqueness of the Remembrance Museum manifests itself in various ways – not only through the importance of the historical content and the valuable exhibits on display.

For where else, but at the entrance to 2A Kolbego Street in Oświęcim, can you see an original sculpture with the title “Asklepios,” made by the world-famous sculptor Igor Mitoraj, raised in Grojec near Oświęcim. There is also no shortage of other unusual artifacts, such as portraits of residents of the Oświęcim area made by Auschwitz prisoners and donated in gratitude for their help.

The museum’s multimedia solutions also attest to its uniqueness. It is here, among many other modern devices, that there is a spherical screen with a dome 4.65 meters in diameter. Finally, here you can, like archaeologist Tom Baxter in Woody Allen’s film “The Purple Rose of Cairo,” walk through a screen…

We encourage you to vote for the Remembrance Museum in the Unique Tourist Attraction category. For every vote and encouragement of your friends to vote for us – we are most grateful 😊.
