Three representatives of foreign media visited the Remembrance Museum of Land of Oświęcim Residents. They inquired about the work of the institution and the planned exhibitions. They saw the Lagerhaus renovation up close where the permanent exhibition will be located.

Helene Bienvenu (French journalist from Le Figaro), Sarah Bakaloglou (of RFI French radio) and Patrice Senécal, Canadian journalist living in Warsaw and writing for French speaking papers visited the temporary base of the Remembrance Museum. They are preparing a report on the policy of Holocaust remembrance in Poland.

Dorota Mleczko, Remembrance Museum director says, “It is such an important topic that people from abroad, and not just locals should hear this information. It [aid] was not a one-off act, rather an organised form of helping prisoners. Many times, visitors coming to the former camp, from both Poland and abroad, wonder and ask how the local inhabitants responded to what was taking place in the camp. It is of crucial importance for us that we answer that question through our exhibition and activities.”

Following the meeting, an on-site visit to the Lagerhaus building at Kolbego took place.
